A critical perfectionist, Friedrich follows a simple motto: "Do it right, or don't fucking bother." Despite this, he's quite fallible.
Half the time, he prefers the company of humans to that of other Hikari.
Friedrich has issues with authority figures and anyone with an inflated sense of ego.

❖BACKGROUND

Born to two pâtissiers, one human, and one Hikari, Friedrich grew up in his parents' bakery in the Hikari town.
As a young child, Friedrich endured merciless bullying for his small wings, so he took to hanging out with human children in the area on the weekends.
From them, he learned the tactic of carrying various, easily thrown items in one's pockets. They tended to use dirt and rocks, but he opted to weaponize the allowance sometimes stolen from him.

On Friedrich's twelfth birthday, his parents gave him a basket of tarts to share with his friends. He and a few humans gathered behind one of the buildings, but before they could eat, another Seraph swooped down from the roof and took the basket.
The thief found the basket too heavy to fly with, and promptly landed before the small gang. The shouting of adolescent boys filled the air, and a volley of squished, handheld mud pies splattered against his wings and clothes. He flew into a rage, charging and tackling the nearest boy - a human, and the two tumbled off the edge. Having come to investigate the noise, a guard took off and assisted the thief's return to safety. The human boy presumably died shortly after hitting the ground, though the thief saw no repercussions.

Within a week, people seemed to forget about the incident. Friedrich's friends didn't stop by that weekend, nor did they come around the next weekend. During the days, he worked in the bakery, but at night, he locked himself in his room and wept.

About a month later, he left the house for the first time since the incident. Prior to leaving, he borrowed a glass jar, partially filled with some pepper powder typically used to spice chocolates.
The boy stopped by a well and added water to the jar, shaking it. He then searched the town on foot for the seraph thief.

Friedrich found his target relieving himself over the edge of the island. Perfect.
He unscrewed the lid of the jar and stepped forward, but froze as someone placed a hand on his shoulder.
The boy turned back, and then he found himself face to face with a striking human girl. She definitely looked older than him, but beyond that, he had no idea as to her age or identity.
She introduced herself as the older sister of his late friend. The girl explained that she spotted him at the well and had been following him since. She persuaded him to pour out the jar and leave with her.

At the shack the girl called home, she handed the seraph a wooden mallet.
Over the months following, she taught Friedrich to channel his anger into the creation of a confection called mochi. She also showed him how to brew tea from loose leaves.

He learned that she was under six years older than he, and that she ran a small stand selling tea and snacks. She called herself Gabrielle.
One day, he returned to her home for lessons and practice, but found it empty. A sign on the door indicated that the place was available for rent.

Friedrich continued working in the bakery. He spent every payment on books describing the lowlands and Okami, and every free moment reading them.

When he turned 18, the young man packed up his clothes, purchased an electric rod, and spent much of what remained on a one-way ticket to the Okami village.

Keep in mind, the Okami, while they may tolerate traveling Hikari merchants, they absolutely hate the Hikari in general. Hikari that find mates among the Okami are generally forgiven and permitted to live on their land long term in the 'Sacred Lands'. As Fredriech is choosing to live on the lowlands on a more long-term basis, be prepared for trouble from both Hikari and Okami, as the Hikari may think you have a secret Okami lover since you're making the move from the upper lands that your Father Sun-God gave to you and your kind. Other than that, you're accepted!
