 Tarkwyn is strong hearted, though is a bit stubborn, but he is generally willing to help.

❖BACKGROUND

Tarkwyn was born in the Okami village. As a fairly newborn pup, he was snatched away while out roaming the forest on his own by a hunting Tori. While the Tori was making its way back to the upper lands, it was intercepted by a Harpy who threatened it to release the pup to them who in turn put the pup into captivity.  

The pup was put into a fighting ring that was kept secret by the other Hikari. They would place all sorts of opponents for the pup to fight and place bets on the winner. The pup eventually grew into a fierce, yet very strong teenage Monsu. He despised his captors and wanted nothing more than to be free and back among his people.

One day, his captors forgot to lock his cage and he made his escape by sneaking onto a merchant vessel headed for the low lands. Once the ship had made its descent and arrived at the port in the low lands, an Okami blacksmith was the one to discover him and decided to take him under his wing as his own son and teach him the trade.  

Shortly after, Tarkwyn chose to honor his people by joining the Okami military. His talents in melee fighting soon caught the attention of the Empress Kelevra who hand selected him to become part of her royal guard. He rose very quickly up in rank. When he was 20 years old, several high ranking officials of the Hikari military attempted to plan a kidnapping of the Empress Kelevra during a speech she was making to her people. While she was giving her speech, it was Tarkwyn who noticed the Harpies making their descent first to attempt to grab her. He flew into action, immediately throwing his shield over her to defend her from the attack. The Hikari failed their mission and immediately abandoned it.

Empress Kelevra, impressed by his actions and quick thinking, chose him as her personal bodyguard and made him captain of the royal guard. Ever since that day, he has mostly spent his time at her side, devoting his loyalty to her.  However, he still assists with blacksmithing and helping with forging armor and weapons for the royal guard.
